HARD TO FIND LONG OUT OF PRODUCTION. The hard-fighting, all volunteer Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in 1943 was a staunch foe for the Japanese Army in and around New Guinea. After service in the Suez Canal region the AIF returned to the South Pacific Theater of Operations to defend their homeland. They participated in many infantry operations against the Japanese from early 1943 until the end of hostilities in 1945.
