BELLISSIMA FIGURA D.A.K. ################################################################## Initially designated "Aufklarungastab Rommel" when Rommel was informed of his new position in February of 1941, the German army in North Africa was renamed "Deutsches Afrikakorps" (DAK) when its official formation was announced. Rommel's forces consisted of numerous elements and a high number of these were fully motorized. Among these were two mean crews on motorcycles, which were used extensively for reconnaissance.
