The Germans introduced the 7.5-cm l.I.G. 1810 in 1933-34 as an infantry close-support weapon. It is found in the cannon company of the infantry regiment. There are two versions: one on steel-type artillery wheels and the other on pneumatic tires. The steel-wheeled carriage is also used by airborne troops, and is often referred to as the 7.5-cm mountain-infantry howitzer.
